Imagination and creativity. Where would we be without those two? Where would we be without the ability to think of something out of this world? And where would we be without the ability to create something inside of our heads as well as in reality which seems so impossible?
In a world in which neither imagination nor creativity exist, life would be dull. Sooner rather than later you would get tired of seeing everything in its greys and whites and blacks. Everything would stay the same, each and every day. Nothing would change, nothing would excite you. There would be no sights to behold after a short while and humanity would fall into grey monotony. Although nature would constantly create new things and new beauties for us to see, it would never be enough to satisfy the average human mind.
In a world in which neither imagination nor creativity exist, we would lack all kinds of inventions and techniques as well as all kinds of books and movies. The biggest and most important authors would have never written their best-selling novels. The most popular TV-shows and movies would have never been made. Perhaps nobody would have ever found insulin or penicillin without the kind of creativity behind medical research. We most likely wouldn’t have computers or tablets or any kind of technology without the ability to think outside the box, without imagination.
Who knows where humanity would be today if our ancestors hadn’t thought of making spears and other kinds of weapons to hunt. Who knows where humanity would be today if our ancestors hadn’t thoughts about different ways to build huts and take shelter. Ever since the first human-like primates lived on this planet, ever since they started to evolve into the human beings we are now – millions of years later – imagination and creativity play an important part in our survival as well as in making our lives less monotone.
Whenever somebody thinks of something new, be it something technical or artistic or medical or something completely different, a new aspect of our world and our lives awakens and changes the way we see things. Using your imagination and creativity might enable not only you but others as well to experience things in all kinds of colours, not only in greys and whites and blacks. Imagination and creativity enable humanity to step out of the grey monotony and into the colourful and fascinating diversity of our existence. Imagination and creativity enable each and every last one of us to see the world and life in all their facets.
